Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Full Stack Software Engineer to join a digital engineering team in Salt Lake City, UT. You will help design, build, test, and maintain web applications and omni-channel user experiences using Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, and REST APIs. This position is full-time and best suited for engineers who enjoy learning, working across the stack, and shipping high-quality features as part of a cross-functional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Node.js-based web applications and backend services.
- Build front-end experiences using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Consume and integrate RESTful APIs, and collaborate with API teams on contract design.
- Implement and iterate on CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for reliable releases.
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and pair programming to maintain team velocity and quality.
- Troubleshoot production issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and contribute to operational support.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and features.
- Collaborate across product, design, QA, and platform teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Practical experience with TypeScript and modern Angular frameworks.
- Hands-on development experience with Node.js and NPM-based tooling.
- Strong fundamentals in computer science: data structures, algorithms, and networking concepts.
- Experience working with HTTP-based APIs and RESTful services.
- Familiarity with version control workflows (Git), branching strategies, and pull requests.
- Understanding of front-end build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Gulp, or similar).
- Appetite for automation: testing, build, and deployment automation practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience (preferred).
Nice-to-Have / Bonus Skills
- Exposure to DevOps tooling and CI systems such as Jenkins, Concourse, Groovy, or similar.
- Experience or exposure to native mobile development (iOS/Android).
- Familiarity with performance tuning, observability, and production monitoring tools.
- Prior work in financial services or regulated environments is a plus but not required.
Working Model & Other Notes
- Confidential Client is transitioning teams toward onsite work in some locations. Candidates should be prepared to follow onsite expectations that apply to this role in Salt Lake City, UT.
