What You’ll Do
As a Full Stack Software Engineer on the Operations Software team, you will build and maintain web-based command, control, and monitoring tools used to operate large-scale satellite and ground-asset systems. You will partner with operators, reliability engineers, and other software teams to design simple, reliable interfaces and backend services that keep mission-critical systems safe and scalable.
- Develop well-architected, highly reliable, responsive, and performant web applications to command, control, and monitor thousands of assets
- Create aesthetic and easy-to-use user interfaces that reduce operator cognitive load and maintain strong safety guardrails
- Collaborate on architecture, design, and code reviews with other engineers and cross-functional partners
- Translate operational needs into pragmatic, maintainable technical solutions
- Measure, profile, and improve application performance and reliability in production
- Own features end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a STEM discipline and 1+ years of professional experience building full-stack software; OR 3+ years of professional experience building full-stack software in lieu of a degree (relevant internships count)
- 1+ years of experience in full-stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data science
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and a bias toward simple, reliable designs
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Frontend experience with Angular, React, or a similar JavaScript framework
- Programming experience in Python or a similar object-oriented language
- Experience with PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, or similar relational databases
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery systems
- Expertise in profiling and improving application performance
- Experience with build systems (Make, Bazel/Pants/Buck, Gradle) and package managers (pip, npm)
- Strong attention to detail and a drive to deliver exceptional operations tools
- Willingness to own outcomes and drive improvements in operational tooling
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to participate in an on‑call rotation (nights and weekends) for production support
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range:
- Level 1: $125,000 - $165,000 per year
- Level 2: $145,000 - $200,000 per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is one part of total compensation; additional elements may include long-term incentives (stock or cash awards), discretionary bonuses, and other benefits.
