Full Stack Software Engineer — Mountain View, CA. Careertakes is helping a Confidential Client in the Technology, Information and Internet industry hire a full stack engineer to build mobile-first, product-oriented software for automotive and electric-vehicle experiences. This is a full-time role based in Mountain View, CA; applicants should be located or able to work in the area.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain full stack features that power mobile-first user experiences for automotive products.
• Work across frontend and backend boundaries — collaborate with product, design, and platform teams to deliver production-quality code.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and design discussions.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, and observability to improve release velocity and system reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; help improve performance and scalability.
• Mentor peers, document system designs, and help define engineering best practices.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience building production-grade applications across frontend and backend.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Experience developing mobile-facing applications or services (APIs, integrations, backend-for-mobile).
• Comfortable working in collaborative, product-driven teams and shipping end-to-end features.
• Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, quality-focused mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or related discipline (preferred).

Nice to Have

• Background working on automotive, electric vehicle (EV), or embedded-related products and services.
• Experience with performance tuning, telemetry, and observability for distributed systems.
• Familiarity with mobile UX constraints and building resilient mobile backends.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $157,000–$180,000 per year (range disclosed by employer; California pay-transparency laws apply).
• Competitive benefits (medical, dental, retirement), paid time off, and professional development — specific benefits will be shared by the Confidential Client during the interview process.

• Primary work location: Mountain View, CA (on-site or hybrid arrangements vary by team — details provided by the Confidential Client).
