About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer (Flight Software) to design, build, and operate mission‑critical applications that support high-throughput manufacturing and flight operations. This role focuses on full-stack development with emphasis on reliability, performance, and scalable systems used across an aerospace organization.
Responsibilities
Confidentia l Client expects the engineer to:
- Develop highly reliable backend and frontend software used across the organization
- Create new internal applications that improve operational efficiency
- Prototype concepts to validate designs and quantify tradeoffs
- Own end-to-end software engineering and product development lifecycle
- Collaborate on architecture, design, and code reviews with cross-functional teams
- Investigate performance issues and implement profiling and optimization strategies
Basic Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a related scientific discipline; OR 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience in full stack development (backend + frontend)
Preferred Skills & Experience
Ideal candidates will have experience with a combination of the following:
- Programming in Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or similar object-oriented languages
- Building single-page applications (1+ years)
- Front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
- Database technologies like PostgreSQL or SQL Server
- CI/CD, automated testing, build and deployment tooling
- Containerization and orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes
- Message / streaming systems (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)
- Build systems and package managers (Make, Bazel/Pants/Buck, Gradle, pip, npm)
- UNIX-like systems administration and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)
- Profiling and application performance tuning at scale
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed on mission-critical activities
- Ability to pass required government background checks as applicable for the role and facilities
- Must be able to comply with export-control and facility access requirements (see ITAR section below)
