Description

About Careertakes

Careertakes is a next-generation AI recruiting platform that connects early-career talent with real roles at established companies across regulated industries.

👉 Important disclosure: Careertakes is a third-party recruiting platform supporting this hiring process. If selected, you will be employed directly by our client, Venture-backed AI platform (memory layer for LLMs).

Applicants for this role may also receive access to additional matched opportunities through the Careertakes platform.

What You'll Do

Build the product surface for the confidential client's memory platform that powers LLM applications. You will own features end-to-end across Next.js and Python, shipping quickly while maintaining quality, performance, and reliability. You will collaborate with design, research, and customers to turn real problems into scalable product experiences and take ownership of outcomes.

  • Ship end-to-end features: design APIs, build UIs, implement backend logic, own data models, and deploy to production.
  • Build for scale & speed: optimize latency, caching, and query patterns so pages and APIs remain snappy and reliable.
  • Own quality: write unit and integration tests, enforce typing and linting, review PRs, and keep documentation current.
  • Collaborate deeply: partner with Design for UX, Research to integrate memory capabilities, and customers to refine requirements.
  • Operate what you build: add observability, set alerts, debug production issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead with product sense: prioritize ruthlessly, make tradeoffs explicit, and iterate based on data and feedback.
  • Go beyond your lane: unblock teammates, learn new tools quickly, and do whatever it takes to deliver.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years proven experience shipping full-stack web applications at scale; primary stack uses Next.js/React and Python.
  • Strong Python skills and familiarity with modern web stacks (REST/GraphQL, Postgres, Redis, background queues).
  • Solid front-end fundamentals: component architecture, state management, forms, accessibility, SSR/ISR.
  • Track record of owning features end-to-end: from design docs to rollout and post-launch iteration.
  • Code quality mindset: testing (unit/integration), type safety (TypeScript/pyright/mypy), CI/CD, and constructive code reviews.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork; comfortable working cross-functionally with design, research, and go-to-market partners.
  • Comfortable operating production systems (logs, metrics, tracing) and meeting low-latency requirements.
  • No CS degree required — we hire for impact and craftsmanship.

Nice To Have

  • Experience integrating LLM/memory features (RAG, embeddings, vector DBs) into user-facing products.
  • Familiarity with model-serving tools (vLLM) or lightweight ML infra integrations.
  • Experience with real-time features (WebSockets/streaming/Server Actions), file uploads, and background jobs at scale.
  • Infra awareness: Docker, Infrastructure-as-Code, basic Kubernetes, Vercel, AWS/GCP deployment patterns and cost considerations.
  • Product/UI polish: Tailwind or Design Systems, handling empty states, error UX, and performance budgets.
  • Security & privacy basics (PII handling, audit/logging).
