What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Full Stack Engineer in New York, NY to design, build, and operate web applications that connect modern front-ends to reliable Python-based backends and data sources.
- Develop and maintain full-stack features using React, TypeScript (or JavaScript), Python (FastAPI/Flask), and REST APIs.
- Translate wireframes and Figma designs into responsive, accessible UI components.
- Build backend services for data ingestion, processing, and API delivery; design clear data contracts and error handling.
- Create functional prototypes and internal tools to validate product concepts and support early-stage experimentation.
- Contribute reusable components to a shared component library and document patterns with Storybook and unit tests.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, product, and platform engineers to surface analytics and model outputs safely and reliably.
- Own delivery: design, implementation, testing, and deployment of assigned features.
Core Technologies & Skillset
- Front-end: React (components, hooks, state), TypeScript / JavaScript, CSS (responsive layouts and basic animations)
- Testing & Documentation: Jest or similar unit testing; Storybook for component docs
- Design & Prototyping: Figma familiarity; experience building prototypes (Streamlit or similar is a plus)
- Backend & Data: Python (FastAPI, Flask), REST API design, SQL (joins, aggregations, CTEs, window functions)
- Tooling: Git (branching, PRs, code review), CI/CD basics, exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
- General: strong analytical/problem-solving skills, effective written & verbal communication, collaborative mindset
Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in React and demonstrated ability to build front-end features from wireframes.
- Strong Python development experience building backend services and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with TypeScript or strong JavaScript fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of SQL and data querying in analytical contexts.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and clearly communicate technical tradeoffs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or production experience contributing to shipped software or capstone/end-to-end projects used by real users.
- Experience with Figma + collaboration with designers.
- Hands-on with Streamlit, Storybook, or internal tooling frameworks.
- Exposure to data warehouses, basic data-pipeline concepts, and cloud-hosted services.
- Experience writing component documentation and unit tests for reusable libraries.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $115,000 – $120,000 per year.
- Location: New York, NY.
- Employment type: Full-time (role will join the Confidential Client’s engineering organization).
