What You’ll Do

As an early, hands-on engineer on a fast-paced fintech team, you will design and operate backend systems that power trading and brokerage integrations. You’ll work closely with product and frontend engineers to deliver high-quality, production-ready features.

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend services that power the trading platform and integrate with major U.S. brokerages
• Lead development of the pilot portal for user data capture, persistence, and broker integration
• Reverse-engineer undocumented APIs and implement scalable, distributed systems
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver user-centric solutions
• Ship production-quality code, participate in architecture decisions, and help scale systems for rapid growth

Minimum Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional experience as a backend engineer (startup experience preferred)
• Proficiency in TypeScript for backend development (other languages acceptable)
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent cloud infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, API integration, and cloud-hosted applications
• Demonstrated track record building and scaling backend systems to support rapid growth

Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience building software for trading, investing, or fintech platforms
• Experience integrating with platforms like Robinhood, Stripe, Plaid, or similar
• Familiarity with Node.js, GraphQL, Nest.js, Google Pub/Sub, PostgreSQL
• Experience working at a hyper-growth startup

• Base pay range: $180,000 — $220,000 per year
