Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team in New York, NY. This full-time Associate-level role will drive technical leadership, design scalable and secure architectures, and help integrate AI-enabled capabilities into production systems. You will mentor engineers, simplify complex systems, and build reusable patterns and tooling to accelerate delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentor engineers across the team.
• Design and implement scalable, secure architectures with a focus on simplicity and reliability.
• Build and maintain microservices, RESTful APIs, and streaming integrations.
• Reduce operational toil by creating reusable patterns, guardrails, and automation.
• Implement cloud-native deployment patterns, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply engineering best practices for testing, observability, security, and performance.
• Use AI-enabled tools thoughtfully to accelerate development while maintaining human oversight for high-risk decisions.
• Monitor production health and lead incident reviews and remediation efforts.
• Rapidly adapt to new problem domains and technologies to meet business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
• 12+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated full-stack expertise.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Deep experience designing and building RESTful APIs and streaming APIs.
• Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, containers (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes or similar).
• Proven track record designing systems for resiliency, scalability, and security.
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; reasonable accommodations are available upon request.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NoSQL or distributed data stores.
• Familiarity with GenAI or ML-driven services and integrating AI-enabled capabilities responsibly.
• Background in financial services, publishing, or other regulated industries (helpful but not required).
• Experience with observability tooling (logs, metrics, traces) and automated testing strategies.
