What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to build and scale core product experiences for a fast-moving, venture-backed startup engineering team in New York, NY. You will own features end-to-end and work cross-functionally to deliver reliable, high-performance systems that support growth.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack applications and services.
- Develop backend APIs, services, and data layers and implement responsive frontend interfaces.
- Own features from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Integrate with internal systems and third-party APIs to deliver complete product functionality.
- Establish and maintain standards for code quality, testing, observability, documentation, security, and performance.
- Troubleshoot production issues, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and improve reliability and cost efficiency.
- Build reusable components, libraries, and internal tools to increase development velocity.
- Collaborate with product, design, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into durable technical solutions.
- Contribute to defining the long-term technical architecture and product roadmap.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of full-stack or software engineering experience.
- Strong programming skills in modern languages (TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Go, Java, or similar).
- Hands-on experience building production web applications with frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue, or similar) and backend stacks (Node.js, Python/Django/FastAPI, Go, Java/Spring, or similar).
- Familiarity deploying and operating services on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, caching, and data-access patterns.
- Knowledge of API design (REST, GraphQL), authentication/authorization, and frontend state management.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, performance optimization, and scalable architecture.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Good judgment on reliability, security, and infrastructure tradeoffs.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in venture-backed or rapidly scaling startups.
- Background with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with observability tools (tracing, metrics, logging).
- Experience building reusable libraries and internal developer tools.
