What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Founding Full-Stack Engineer to own major product areas end-to-end and ship fast with high quality. You will work directly with the CEO and CPO to move the platform from initial commits to the first thousand subscribers.

• Core platform engineering — design and build end-to-end systems using a React/Next.js front end, server-side APIs, and background jobs; establish architecture and engineering patterns.
• Build customer workflows — implement the vehicle catalog, availability/availability engine, subscription, delivery, swap, and upgrade flows that customers use daily.
• Billing & subscriptions — implement Stripe-based subscription flows, invoicing, proration handling, dunning, and webhooks.
• Operations & partner tools — design admin dashboards and partner-facing tools for inventory, registration/vehicle lifecycle, payouts, and pricing.
• Engineering foundations — establish CI/CD, automated testing, role-based access control, and documented release processes for a lean, AI-augmented team.
• Product strategy — translate product vision into technical architecture and help prioritize roadmap decisions alongside the founding team.
• Ship with ownership — take features from schema to UI to deploy, owning monitoring, alerts, and post-release fixes.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 2–3+ years shipping production web applications across the full stack; comfortable owning a feature from DB schema to UI to deploy.
• Tech stack: Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js (server-side APIs and background jobs).
• Payments expertise: Hands-on experience implementing Stripe subscriptions and webhooks (proration, invoicing, dunning).
• Internal tooling: Experience building admin panels, dashboards, or ops tools used by non-engineering teams.
• AI-enabled workflows: Comfortable using modern AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) as part of daily development.
• Ownership mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity, biased toward shipping quickly, and proactive about tests and documentation.
• Communication: Clear, direct communicator who can partner with non-technical founders and stakeholders.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Background in mobility, automotive, fintech, or insurtech.
• Experience building marketplaces or two-sided platforms.
• Integrations with vehicle data APIs (VIN decoding, DMV/registration), embedded insurance, or logistics systems.
