What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, high-quality production code across the full stack using Java and React.
• Build scalable, cloud-native services and serverless functions (AWS ECS, AWS Lambda) that integrate with Postgres and Kafka.
• Troubleshoot, review, and debug code; drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Identify recurring operational issues and implement automation or remediation to improve stability.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure code meets design constraints.
• Lead technical evaluations with vendors, startups, and cross-functional teams to validate architectural fit and technical credentials.
• Analyze large, diverse datasets to create visualizations and reports that inform product and engineering decisions.
• Contribute to engineering communities of practice; explore and pilot emerging technologies that improve delivery and reliability.

Must‑Have Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience developing production applications with Java (backend) and React (frontend).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services — specifically ECS and Lambda.
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres) and event streaming systems (Kafka).
• Strong debugging skills and experience producing secure, production-ready code.
• Ability to translate architecture and design into implementable code and to produce technical artifacts that guide development.
• Comfortable analyzing data to surface issues and drive engineering improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with microservices, containerization (Docker), and orchestration patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Prior experience evaluating third-party platforms or vendor solutions from a technical and architectural perspective.
• Knowledge of performance tuning, observability (logging/metrics/tracing), and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Experience contributing to engineering best practices and developer communities.
