Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Full-Stack Software Engineer II to design and deliver secure, scalable web applications and services. You will work across the stack with Java, Spring (Boot & Security), and React to build SaaS solutions on cloud platforms. This is a hybrid, full-time role based in Minneapolis, MN (three days per week in-office).

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-performing, secure applications and services using Java, Spring (Boot & Security), and React.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and front-end components to deliver excellent user experiences.
• Apply secure development lifecycle practices, threat modeling, and web application security assessments.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, performance tuning, and system optimizations.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment tooling.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents; identify root causes and implement long-term fixes.
• Work in an Agile (Scrum) environment; estimate, plan, and deliver in iterative sprints.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and share technical knowledge across the organization.
• Work independently on assignments while contributing to team planning and delivery.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of professional software development experience building business applications.
• 3+ years of Java and Spring development experience (experience with modern JDKs preferred).
• 2+ years of experience with React and building RESTful web services.
• Experience building SaaS products and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with developer tools such as VS Code or IntelliJ and issue-tracking tools like Jira.
• Experience with multi-threaded application development and performance tuning.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on Spring Boot and Spring Security experience.
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS), Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with Ansible, JPA, Linux, and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Experience with SSO, SAML 2.0, and identity/security technologies.
• Understanding of layered design, design patterns, and data access best practices.
• Experience developing commercial or customer-facing products and knowledge of software security concepts (cryptography, obfuscation).
• Smartcard technology experience is a bonus.
