Overview
Confidential Client is launching a Frontier Certified Engineer (FCE) program to train and grow early-career engineers who will work with AI-augmented development tools, cloud platforms, and modern software delivery practices. This is an entry-level, full-time, hybrid role that includes structured training, mentorship, and hands-on project work in small cross-functional pods. The role requires legal authorization to work in Canada without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities
- Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and apply them to real engineering tasks.
- Write, test, debug, and improve code as part of a collaborative pod.
- Support development of AI-enabled workflows, automation, and data-driven systems.
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance.
- Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support.
- Help build knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data solutions that improve AI experiences.
- Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices.
- Participate in certifications, workshops, and ongoing technical training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience from coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, certifications, hackathons, capstone projects, or personal projects.
- Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, AI, data engineering, or automation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a fast learner’s mindset.
- Ownership mindset with accountability for delivering high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with one or more languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
- Exposure to cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, or data engineering concepts.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Hands-on projects (academic, internship, open-source or personal) involving software, AI, cloud, or automation.
- Interest in responsible AI and emerging technologies.
Training & Certification
- Complete an entrance assessment covering AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, and production delivery.
- Complete the Frontier engineering bootcamp with hands-on project work in a collaborative pod.
- Earn Frontier certifications and participate in ongoing technical learning programs.
- Work alongside experienced practitioners while developing skills to contribute to AI-native systems and solutions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000 per year.
- Eligible for discretionary performance-based bonus and benefits that support physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.

Work Arrangement & Start Date
- Hybrid position requiring approximately 3 days per week on-site in a Toronto, ON office (client or Confidential Client location) as business needs require.
- Start date: new hires will start in September 2026. Final start date will depend on business needs and candidate availability.
- Working arrangements may change based on project and client requirements; role expectations will be communicated clearly.
