Who We're Looking For
This is an entry-level opportunity designed for recent graduates and early-career technologists. We welcome applicants who have demonstrated technical aptitude through academic programs, internships, personal projects, hackathons, research, military experience, or other hands-on work.
Ideal candidates typically have backgrounds in:
- Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical disciplines
- Demonstrable interest in software development, cloud platforms, AI, automation, or data engineering
- Strong problem-solving ability, communication skills, curiosity, and a growth mindset
Responsibilities
As a Frontier Certified Engineer, you will:
- Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering technologies to build and improve software solutions
- Write, test, debug, and enhance code while collaborating with teammates and AI-powered tools
- Support development of AI-enabled applications, workflows, and automation solutions
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, and business relevance
- Contribute to knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data-driven solutions that improve AI experiences
- Participate in testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support activities
- Collaborate within a small, cross-functional pod and apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices
- Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and delivery approaches
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical discipline
- Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience gained through coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, certifications, hackathons, capstones, or personal projects
- Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, AI, data engineering, automation, or related fields
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn quickly
- Ownership mindset and accountability for delivering quality work
Preferred Qualifications
(Preferred but not required — we encourage applications from candidates who meet some of these through coursework, internships, or personal projects.)
- Experience with one or more languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or similar
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
- Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, or prompt engineering
- Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, or data engineering concepts
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices
- Personal, academic, or internship projects involving software development, AI, cloud, or automation
Training & Certification
- Pass the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment covering AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, production delivery, and business fundamentals
- Complete the Frontier engineering bootcamp with hands-on project work in a collaborative pod
- Participate in ongoing technical learning, certifications, workshops, and mentorship with Frontier practitioners
Compensation, Location & Start Date
- Base salary: $100,000 per year.
- This position is eligible for the client’s discretionary performance-based bonus and benefits that support physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
- Work arrangement: Hybrid — typically requires 3 days per week in a client or Confidential Client office in Toronto, ON (subject to project and business requirements).
- Start date: New hires will start in September 2026 (final start date will be determined based on business needs and availability).
