Overview

Confidential Client's Frontier program builds AI-augmented engineering teams that combine AI, software engineering, cloud, data, quality, infrastructure, and operations to deliver measurable business outcomes. This entry-level Frontier Certified Engineer (FCE) opportunity is designed for recent graduates and early-career technologists who want structured training, hands-on experience, and mentorship while contributing to client-facing solutions.


What You’ll Do

  • Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering technologies to build and improve software solutions.
  • Write, test, debug, and enhance code while collaborating with teammates and AI-powered tools.
  • Support development of AI-enabled applications, automation, workflows, and data-driven features.
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance.
  • Help design and maintain knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data pipelines that improve AI experiences.
  • Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support activities.
  • Collaborate in a small, cross-functional pod to deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices when developing solutions.
  • Participate in technical training, certifications, workshops, and hands-on bootcamp projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience from coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, certifications, hackathons, capstone projects, personal projects, or similar activities.
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, data engineering, or automation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn quickly in emerging technology domains.
  • Ownership mindset and accountability for delivering high-quality work.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

(Preferred — not required.)

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or similar.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools.
  • Exposure to APIs, automation platforms, databases, software development methodologies, or data engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices.
  • Experience from academic, personal, or internship projects involving software development, AI, cloud, data, or automation.
  • Interest in responsible AI and continuous technical learning.

Training & Certification

  • Complete the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment covering AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, production delivery, and business fundamentals.
  • Attend and complete the Frontier engineering bootcamp, including hands-on project work within a collaborative pod environment.
  • Participate in ongoing technical learning and Frontier certification programs while working with experienced practitioners.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $100,000 per year.
  • Eligible for discretionary annual performance-based bonus and benefits that support physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
  • Confidential Client regularly assesses market data to keep compensation competitive.

Location & Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid role: typically requires 3 days per week in a client or Confidential Client office in Toronto, ON (per role requirements).
  • Start date: new hires will start in September 2026 (final start date subject to business needs).
