Overview

Confidential Client is hiring entry-level engineers into a structured Frontier Certified Engineer (FCE) program focused on AI-augmented software delivery. This program combines hands-on bootcamp training, mentorship, and client-facing project experience to help early-career technologists build practical skills across AI, software engineering, cloud, automation, and modern delivery practices.


What You’ll Do

  • Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and collaborate with AI practitioners to build and improve software solutions.
  • Write, test, debug, and enhance code while working within small cross-functional pods.
  • Support development of AI-enabled applications, automation, and data-driven workflows.
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance.
  • Contribute to deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support tasks.
  • Help build knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data solutions that improve AI experiences.
  • Apply responsible-AI principles and engineering best practices in solution development.
  • Participate in technical training, certifications, workshops, and hands-on project work.

Who Should Apply

We encourage recent graduates and early-career professionals who have technical foundations and a strong desire to learn. Typical backgrounds include:

  • Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
  • Technical skills gained through coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, apprenticeships, capstone projects, hackathons, certifications, open-source contributions, or personal projects.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset.

This is an entry-level opportunity — professional AI experience is NOT required.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with hands-on technical experience from school projects, internships, certifications, or similar experiences.
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, AI, data engineering, automation, or related fields.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments and take ownership of deliverables.

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience with one or more programming languages (for example: Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted dev tools.
  • Exposure to APIs, automation platforms, databases, and data engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience from academic or personal projects, internships, hackathons, or open-source contributions.

Training & Certification

  • Complete Frontier onboarding, assessments, and a hands-on engineering bootcamp.
  • Earn Frontier certifications and participate in ongoing technical learning programs.
  • Work alongside experienced practitioners and receive mentorship while contributing to client solutions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $100,000 per year (as stated by the client).
  • Eligible for discretionary annual performance-based bonus and benefits supporting physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
  • Total compensation is reviewed against market data to remain competitive.

Location & Start Date

  • This is a hybrid role requiring approximately 3 days per week in a client or confidential client office in Toronto, ON (working arrangements may vary by project).
  • Anticipated start date: September 2026.
  • New hires must be legally authorized to work in Canada without employer sponsorship.
