Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Frontier Certified Engineer (FCE) — an early-career engineering role focused on AI-assisted software development, cloud, automation, and modern delivery practices. This program pairs structured training, hands-on bootcamp experience, and mentoring so you can develop practical skills building AI-enabled solutions for real clients.
This is a hybrid role requiring regular onsite collaboration in Toronto, ON (3 days/week). New hires are expected to start in September 2026.

Responsibilities
- Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and contribute to software delivery across the stack.
- Write, test, debug, and enhance code while collaborating with teammates and AI-powered tools.
- Support development of AI-enabled applications, automation workflows, and data-driven solutions.
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, and business relevance.
- Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, and documentation activities.
- Help build and maintain knowledge systems and retrieval workflows that improve AI experiences.
- Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices.
- Continuously learn new tools, frameworks, and delivery approaches as technology evolves.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- Recent graduate or early-career professional with hands-on technical experience from coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, apprenticeships, capstone projects, hackathons, certifications, or personal projects.
- Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, AI, data engineering, or automation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and an ability to collaborate in team settings.
- Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, ownership mindset, and eagerness to learn quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with one or more programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or similar).
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, and source control (Git).
- Project experience from internships, academic work, open-source contributions, or hackathons is a plus.
- Interest in responsible AI and continuous technical learning.
Training & Certification
- Complete the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment covering AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, production delivery, and business fundamentals.
- Participate in and complete the Frontier engineering bootcamp with hands-on project work in a collaborative pod.
- Earn Frontier certifications and join ongoing technical learning and development programs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000 per year.
- Eligible for the client’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus and benefits supporting physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
- Confidential Client reviews market data regularly to ensure competitive total compensation.
Location & Work Authorization
- Work arrangement: Hybrid — typically requires 3 days per week in a client or Confidential Client office in Toronto, ON.
- Important: Confidential Client will consider only applicants who are legally authorized to work in Canada without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
