About the Role

Confidential Client is building AI-augmented engineering teams and is hiring entry-level Frontier Certified Engineers (FCE). This is a structured, early-career program designed to train recent graduates and early-career technologists to work with AI-assisted development tools, cloud platforms, and modern software-delivery practices. The program combines classroom-style and hands-on bootcamp training, mentorship, and client-facing project experience.

Responsibilities

As a Frontier Certified Engineer you will:

  • Learn and apply AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering technologies to deliver software solutions.
  • Write, test, debug, and enhance code as part of a team using collaborative development practices.
  • Support the development of AI-enabled applications, workflows, and automation solutions.
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, and business relevance.
  • Help build knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data-driven components that improve AI experiences.
  • Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support.
  • Follow responsible AI principles and engineering best practices when designing solutions.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training, certifications, and hands-on learning experiences.

Qualifications (Required)

We encourage candidates to apply even if they do not meet every preferred qualification. Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience via coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military service, certifications, capstone projects, hackathons, personal projects, or similar hands-on experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, AI, data engineering, automation, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate on a team.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, ownership mindset, and a strong willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

(Helpful but not required)

  • Experience with one or more programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or similar.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, or data engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with source control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Project experience (academic, personal, internship) in software, AI, cloud, data, or automation technologies.
  • Interest in responsible AI and continuous technical learning.

Training & Certification

  • Complete the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment covering AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, production delivery, and business fundamentals.
  • Finish the Frontier engineering bootcamp and hands-on project work within a collaborative pod.
  • Participate in ongoing technical learning, certifications, and Frontier engineering development programs, while working alongside experienced practitioners.

Compensation, Location & Start Date

  • Base salary: $100,000 per year.
  • Eligible for discretionary annual performance-based bonus and benefits that support physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
  • Work arrangement: Hybrid — typically requires three days per week in a client or Confidential Client office in Toronto, ON. Exact working arrangement may vary by project and will be communicated clearly.
  • Start date: New hires are expected to start in September 2026. Final start date will depend on business needs and availability.
