Overview

Confidential Client (IT) is hiring entry-level Frontier Certified Engineers (FCE) to join a next-generation engineering program focused on AI-augmented delivery. This role is ideal for recent graduates and early-career technologists who want structured training, hands-on experience, and mentorship while working on real-world software, cloud, data, and AI problems.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and use AI-assisted development tools and contemporary engineering technologies to design and deliver software solutions
  • Write, test, debug, and enhance code while collaborating with teammates and AI-powered tools
  • Support development of AI-enabled applications, retrieval workflows, and automation solutions
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, quality, and business relevance
  • Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, and documentation activities
  • Work in a small, cross-functional pod to deliver measurable customer and business outcomes
  • Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices
  • Participate in ongoing technical training, certifications, and hands-on learning experiences

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience from coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, certifications, hackathons, capstone projects, open-source contributions, or personal projects
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, data engineering, or automation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset, curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn quickly
  • Ownership mentality and accountability for delivering high-quality work

Preferred Qualifications

These are nice-to-haves, not requirements. Candidates who have some exposure through coursework, internships, projects, or certifications are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools
  • Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, and data engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • Past academic, internship, or personal projects involving software, AI, cloud, or automation

Training & Certification

  • Pass the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment covering AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, production delivery, and business fundamentals
  • Complete the Frontier engineering bootcamp with hands-on project work in a collaborative pod
  • Participate in ongoing technical learning and Frontier engineering development programs
  • Work alongside Frontier practitioners to develop skills for contributing to AI-native systems and client solutions

Compensation & Important Details

  • Base salary: $100,000 per year (reported by the source)
  • Eligible for discretionary annual performance-based bonus and benefits supporting physical, mental, and financial wellbeing
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Start date: New hires will start in September 2026 (exact start date will be communicated)
  • Working arrangement: Hybrid — typically requires 3 days per week in a client or Confidential Client office in Toronto, ON (subject to project and business requirements)
  • Work authorization: Confidential Client will consider applicants who are legally authorized to work in Canada without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future
