About the role

Join a structured, entry-level engineering program focused on AI-enabled delivery. As a Frontier Certified Engineer (FCE), you’ll complete an intensive onboarding and bootcamp, work in small cross-functional pods, and learn to build software and AI-enabled solutions using modern engineering practices and AI-assisted development tools. This program is designed for recent graduates and early-career technologists who want hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to client projects.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering technologies to build and improve software solutions
  • Write, test, debug, and enhance code while collaborating with teammates and AI-powered tools
  • Support development of AI-enabled applications, automation, and data-driven workflows
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance
  • Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support activities
  • Help build knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data solutions that improve AI experiences
  • Collaborate in a small, cross-functional pod to deliver customer and business outcomes
  • Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices
  • Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and delivery approaches
  • Participate in technical training, certifications, workshops, and hands-on learning experiences

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience from coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, certifications, hackathons, capstone projects, personal projects, or similar
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, AI, data engineering, or automation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn quickly
  • Ownership mindset and accountability for delivering high-quality work

Preferred qualifications

(Preferred but not required — we encourage applicants who meet some of these through coursework, projects, internships, or self-study.)

  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools
  • Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, or data engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices
  • Project experience (academic, personal, or internship) involving software development, AI, cloud, or data

Training & certification

  • Pass a Centre of Excellence assessment covering AI fundamentals, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, delivery, and business basics
  • Complete the engineering bootcamp with hands-on project work in a collaborative pod
  • Participate in ongoing technical learning and Frontier development programs
  • Work alongside experienced practitioners to build skills for AI-native systems and client solutions

Location & work authorization

  • This is a hybrid role that requires approximately 3 days per week in a client or office located in Toronto, ON. Working arrangements may vary by project and client needs; details will be confirmed during the hiring process.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation & start date

  • Base salary: $100,000 per year
  • Eligible for the confidential client’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus and a benefits package that supports physical, mental, and financial wellbeing
  • Anticipated start: September 2026
