About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring entry-level Frontier Certified Engineers (FCE). This is an early-career program designed to give recent graduates and early-career technologists structured training, hands-on bootcamp experience, and mentorship to build AI-enabled software engineering skills. You will learn to work with AI-assisted development tools, cloud platforms, and modern delivery practices while contributing to real client solutions.

Who We’re Looking For

We encourage applications from early-career candidates who demonstrate strong technical foundations, curiosity, and a desire to learn. Typical backgrounds include Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar disciplines. Practical experience can come from coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, projects, hackathons, or certifications.


Responsibilities

  • Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering technologies
  • Write, test, debug, and improve code in collaboration with teammates and AI tools
  • Support development of AI-enabled applications, automation, and workflows
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, and business relevance
  • Contribute to retrieval systems, data-driven features, and knowledge workflows
  • Participate in testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and support tasks
  • Work in a small, cross-functional pod to deliver measurable client outcomes
  • Apply responsible AI practices and engineering best practices
  • Continuously learn new tools, cloud services, and delivery approaches
  • Complete required technical training, certifications, and bootcamp projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical discipline
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with hands-on technical experience (coursework, internships, projects, military experience, certifications, hackathons, etc.)
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud, AI, data engineering, or automation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate in team-oriented environments
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a strong willingness to learn
  • Ownership mindset and accountability for delivering quality work

Preferred Qualifications (not required)

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, or prompt engineering
  • Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, or data engineering concepts
  • Experience using source control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Projects, internships, or personal work involving AI, cloud, data, or automation
  • Interest in responsible AI and continuous technical development

Training & Certification

  • Pass the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment (AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, delivery, business fundamentals)
  • Complete the Frontier engineering bootcamp and hands-on pod projects
  • Participate in ongoing technical learning and Frontier certification programs
  • Work alongside experienced practitioners while contributing to client solutions

Total Compensation

  • Base salary: $100,000 per year
  • Eligible for discretionary annual performance-based bonus

Location & Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid role requiring approximately 3 days per week onsite at a client or Confidential Client office in Toronto, ON.
  • This posting reflects the working arrangement at the time of posting; actual project requirements may change. The hiring team will provide clarity about role expectations.

Start Date

  • Anticipated new-hire start: September 2026. Final start date depends on business need and role availability and will be communicated in advance.
