Overview

Confidential Client is hiring entry-level Frontier Certified Engineers (FCE) to join a next-generation engineering program focused on AI-augmented delivery. This program combines structured training, hands-on bootcamp experience, and mentorship so early-career technologists can develop software, cloud, data, automation, and AI-assisted engineering skills while delivering client value.

Responsibilities

As a Frontier Certified Engineer you will:

  • Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering technologies to build and improve software solutions
  • Write, test, debug, and enhance code while collaborating with teammates and AI-powered tools
  • Support development of AI-enabled applications, workflows, and automation solutions
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, and business relevance
  • Help build knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data-driven solutions that improve AI experiences
  • Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support activities
  • Collaborate within a small, cross-functional pod to deliver measurable customer outcomes
  • Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices
  • Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and delivery approaches

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience from coursework, internships, co-ops, military experience, certifications, hackathons, capstone projects, personal projects, or similar hands-on work
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, data engineering, or automation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn quickly in emerging technology domains
  • Ownership mindset and accountability for delivering high-quality work

Preferred (not required)

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools
  • Exposure to APIs, automation platforms, databases, software development methodologies, or data engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices
  • Academic, internship, or personal projects involving software development, AI, cloud, data, or automation

Training & Certification

  • Pass the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment covering AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, production delivery, and business fundamentals
  • Complete the Frontier engineering bootcamp, including hands-on project work within a collaborative pod environment
  • Participate in ongoing technical learning, certifications, and Frontier engineering development programs

Total Compensation & Location

  • Base salary: $100,000 per year (as stated in the source posting)
  • Eligible for discretionary annual performance-based bonus and benefits that support physical, mental, and financial wellbeing

Location & work model (as stated at posting): hybrid role that typically requires 3 days per week in a client or Confidential Client office in Toronto, ON. Working arrangements may vary by project and client requirements; role expectations will be communicated clearly.
