Overview

This is an entry-level Frontier Certified Engineer (FCE) opportunity with a confidential client in the IT industry. The program is designed for early-career technologists who want structured onboarding, hands-on engineering training, and experience working with AI-augmented development tools, cloud platforms, and modern delivery practices. You will join small cross-functional pods, complete a bootcamp and certification pathway, and work on projects that deliver measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering technologies to build and improve software solutions.
  • Write, test, debug, and enhance code while collaborating with teammates and AI tools.
  • Support the development of AI-enabled applications, workflows, and automation solutions.
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance.
  • Contribute to knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data-driven solutions that improve AI experiences.
  • Participate in testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support tasks.
  • Collaborate in a small, cross-functional pod to deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices.
  • Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and delivery approaches.
  • Complete technical training, certifications, and hands-on learning experiences to build Frontier capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience gained through coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, certifications, hackathons, capstone projects, personal projects, or similar experiences.
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, AI, data engineering, automation, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively on a team.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn quickly.
  • Ownership mindset and accountability for delivering high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications

(The items below are preferred but not required; we encourage applicants who meet some of these through coursework, projects, internships, or self-study.)

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, software development methodologies, or data engineering fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices.
  • Academic, internship, or personal projects involving software development, AI, cloud, data, or automation.
  • Interest in responsible AI and continuous technical learning.

Training & Certification

  • Pass the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment covering AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, production delivery, and business fundamentals.
  • Complete the Frontier engineering bootcamp with hands-on project work in a pod environment.
  • Participate in ongoing technical learning, certifications, and Frontier engineering development programs.
  • Work alongside experienced practitioners to develop skills for AI-native systems and client solutions.

Location & Work Model

This position is expected to work from one of the following office locations (hybrid expectations apply): Plano, TX; Charlotte, NC; Teaneck, NJ; or Bridgewater, NJ.

  • Relocation assistance is not provided. Applicants should be currently located in—or able to relocate at their own expense to—one of these locations.

Start Date

Frontier Certified Engineers are expected to begin employment in Summer 2026. Exact start dates will be communicated with sufficient time for planning.


Salary & Other Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $100,000 USD (Associate-level).
  • This role may be eligible for the client’s discretionary annual incentive program, subject to plan terms.
