Overview

Confidential Client is recruiting for a Frontier Certified Engineer (FCE) — an entry-level, hands-on engineering role focused on AI-augmented software delivery. This program combines structured training, a practical engineering bootcamp, and mentorship to help early-career technologists build software, cloud, and AI skills while contributing to real client solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and use AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering technologies
  • Write, test, debug, and enhance code in collaboration with teammates and AI tools
  • Support development of AI-enabled applications, automation, and data-driven workflows
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, and business relevance
  • Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support
  • Build retrieval workflows, knowledge systems, and other components that improve AI experiences
  • Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices
  • Continuously learn new tools, cloud platforms, and delivery approaches

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, or related technical discipline
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience from coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, apprenticeship, capstone projects, hackathons, certifications, personal projects, or similar
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, AI, data engineering, or automation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication and teamwork skills
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a strong willingness to learn quickly
  • Ownership mindset and accountability for delivering high-quality work

Preferred Qualifications

(The following are preferred but not required. Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they have only some of these experiences.)

  • Experience with one or more programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or similar
  • Exposure to cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools
  • Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, software development methodologies, or data engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with source control (Git) and collaborative development practices
  • Project experience from academics, internships, open-source, or personal work in software, cloud, data, or automation

Training & Certification

  • Complete the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment (AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, production delivery, and business fundamentals)
  • Participate in the Frontier engineering bootcamp and hands-on pod projects
  • Engage in ongoing technical learning and certifications with guidance from experienced practitioners

Location & Work Expectations

This opportunity is based in one of the following U.S. office locations: Plano, TX; Charlotte, NC; Teaneck, NJ; or Bridgewater, NJ. Associates are expected to work from one of these offices and follow hybrid work expectations. Relocation assistance is not provided. Candidates should apply only if they are currently located in — or able to relocate at their own expense to — one of these locations.


Start Date

Anticipated start: Summer 2026. Exact start dates will be communicated to selected candidates with sufficient lead time.


Compensation

  • Annual salary for this Associate-level role: $100,000 USD.
  • Role may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to plan terms.
