Core Responsibilities

As a Frontier Certified Engineer, you will:

  • Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering technologies to build and improve software solutions
  • Write, test, debug, and enhance code while collaborating in small cross-functional pods
  • Support development of AI-enabled applications, workflows, and automation solutions
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance
  • Contribute to building knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data-driven AI experiences
  • Participate in testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support
  • Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices
  • Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and delivery approaches
  • Complete technical training, certifications, and hands-on project work

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience from coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, certifications, hackathons, capstone projects, personal projects, or similar
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, AI, data engineering, or automation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented collaboration and an ownership mindset
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn in emerging technology domains

Preferred (not required)

  • Experience with one or more programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or similar
  • Exposure to cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools
  • Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, and data engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices
  • Projects or internships involving software development, AI, cloud, data, or automation

Training & Certification

  • Pass the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment (AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, delivery, business fundamentals)
  • Complete the Frontier engineering bootcamp with hands-on pod project work
  • Ongoing technical learning, certifications, and mentorship from Frontier practitioners

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary: $100,000 USD
  • May be eligible for discretionary annual incentive program (subject to plan terms)
