About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring entry-level engineers into a structured Frontier Certified Engineer (FCE) program focused on AI-augmented engineering. This program combines hands-on bootcamp training, mentorship, and project work to help early-career talent build skills in AI-assisted development, cloud, software engineering, data, and automation. You will work in small cross-functional pods alongside experienced practitioners and AI-powered tools to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Who We’re Looking For

- Recent graduates or early-career professionals from Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines.

Responsibilities
As a Frontier Certified Engineer, you will:
- Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering technologies to build and improve software solutions.
- Write, test, debug, and enhance code while collaborating with teammates and AI-assisted tools.
- Support the development of AI-enabled applications, workflows, and automation solutions.
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance.
- Help build knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data-driven solutions that improve AI experiences.
- Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support activities.
- Collaborate within a small, cross-functional pod to deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.
- Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices.
- Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and delivery approaches.
- Participate in technical training, certifications, workshops, and hands-on learning experiences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience gained through coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, certifications, hackathons, capstone projects, personal projects, or similar experiences.
- Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, data engineering, automation, or related fields.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and an ownership mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
(The following are helpful but not required.)
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, or prompt engineering.
- Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, or data engineering concepts.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Participation in academic, personal, or internship projects involving software development, AI, cloud, data, or automation.
Training & Certification
- Pass the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment covering AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, production delivery, and business fundamentals.
- Complete the Frontier engineering bootcamp, including hands-on project work in a collaborative pod.
- Participate in ongoing technical learning, certifications, and Frontier engineering development programs.
- Work alongside experienced Frontier practitioners while building skills to contribute to AI-native systems and client solutions.
Compensation & Location
- Base salary: $100,000 per year.
- This role is eligible for the client’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus and benefits.
- Work arrangement: Hybrid — requires approximately 3 days per week in a client or Confidential Client office in Toronto, ON (subject to project and client requirements).
- Start date: New hires will start in September 2026.
