Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Frontier Certified Engineer (FCE) to join a next-generation engineering program focused on AI-augmented delivery. This role is designed for recent graduates and early-career technologists who want structured training, hands-on bootcamp experience, and mentorship while contributing to AI-enabled software, automation, and cloud solutions.

This position offers a base salary of $100,000 per year (reported currency in source listing) and is a hybrid role requiring in-office work 3 days per week in Toronto, ON. Start date: September 2026. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada without employer sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering technologies
  • Write, test, debug, and enhance code in collaboration with teammates and AI tools
  • Support development of AI-enabled applications, automation, and data workflows
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, and business relevance
  • Help build knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data-driven solutions
  • Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support
  • Work within a small, cross-functional pod to deliver measurable client outcomes
  • Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices
  • Participate in technical training, certifications, and hands-on learning experiences

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience from coursework, internships, co‑ops, research, military service, certifications, hackathons, capstone projects, open-source work, or personal projects
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud, data, AI, or automation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a fast-learning mindset
  • Ownership mindset and accountability for high-quality work
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without employer sponsorship

Preferred (not required) Experience

  • Experience in one or more languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or similar
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted dev tools
  • Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, and data engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • Hands-on academic, internship, or personal projects involving software, AI, cloud, or automation
  • Interest in responsible AI and continuous technical learning

Training & Certification

  • Complete the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment covering AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, production delivery, and business fundamentals
  • Finish the Frontier engineering bootcamp and hands-on project work within a pod
  • Participate in ongoing technical learning, certifications, and development programs

Compensation & Location

  • Base salary: $100,000 per year (as stated in source)
  • Eligible for discretionary annual performance-based bonus and benefits supporting wellbeing
  • Hybrid role: requires 3 days per week in a client or Confidential Client office in Toronto, ON
  • Start date: September 2026 (subject to business need and final scheduling)
