Role Overview

This entry-level Frontier Certified Engineer (FCE) position is an early-career engineering role focused on building AI-augmented solutions as part of small, cross-functional pods. You will receive structured training, a hands-on bootcamp, mentorship, and the opportunity to work on real client challenges using AI-assisted development tools, cloud platforms, and modern engineering practices.


What You’ll Do

  • Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and agent-driven workflows to build and improve software solutions.
  • Write, test, debug, and enhance code in collaboration with teammates and AI tools.
  • Support development of AI-enabled applications, automation, and data-driven workflows.
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance.
  • Help build knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and data solutions that improve AI experiences.
  • Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support activities.
  • Collaborate within a small cross-functional pod to deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices.
  • Continuously learn new tools, cloud services, and delivery approaches.
  • Participate in technical training, certifications, workshops, and hands-on learning experiences.

Who Should Apply

We encourage recent graduates and early-career technology professionals with strong technical foundations and a desire to learn. Ideal backgrounds include:

  • Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
  • Technical experience from coursework, internships, co-ops, research, military experience, apprenticeships, capstone projects, hackathons, certifications, open-source work, or personal projects.
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, AI, data engineering, automation, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and an ownership mindset.

This is an entry-level opportunity; professional AI experience is not required. Candidates who do not meet every preferred qualification are encouraged to apply.


Preferred (but not required)

  • Experience with one or more programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or similar.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience with APIs, automation platforms, databases, and software development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Project experience from internships, academics, open-source, or personal work in software, AI, cloud, or data.

Training & Certification

  • Pass the Frontier Center of Excellence assessment covering AI foundations, software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, production delivery, and business fundamentals.
  • Complete the Frontier engineering bootcamp, including hands-on project work within a collaborative pod.
  • Participate in ongoing technical learning, certifications, and Frontier engineering development programs.
  • Work alongside experienced practitioners to build skills needed for AI-native systems and client solutions.

Location & Work Model

This role is based at one of the following U.S. office locations with applicable hybrid work expectations:

  • Plano, TX
  • Charlotte, NC
  • Teaneck, NJ
  • Bridgewater, NJ

Candidates should apply only if they are currently located in, or able to relocate at their own expense to, one of these office locations. Relocation assistance is not provided.


Start Date

Frontier Certified Engineers are expected to begin employment in Summer 2026. Exact start dates will be communicated in advance to help candidates plan.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary: $100,000 USD (Associate-level).
  • May be eligible for discretionary annual incentive program, subject to plan terms.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays and time off, 401(k) plan, long-term and short-term disability, paid parental leave, employee stock purchase plan, learning and development programs, certifications, and wellness resources.
