Overview

This is a contract, freelance UX Designer role supporting a Confidential Client on remote product design work for web and mobile experiences. As a third‑party recruiter, Careertakes seeks candidates with hands‑on UX design experience who can move quickly from research and wireframes to high‑fidelity prototypes and handoffs.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers to define UX goals and deliverables for features and user flows
• Translate requirements and research insights into sketches, wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes
• Iterate on designs based on user feedback, usability testing, and stakeholder input
• Prepare annotated designs and handoff assets for engineering (specs, redlines, assets)
• Advocate for user-centered design decisions and accessibility best practices
• Manage time effectively to meet contract milestones and deliver high-quality work on schedule

What we’re looking for

• Proven freelance or contract experience as a UX or product designer
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UX process: research insights, wireframes, prototypes, and final screens
• Comfortable producing both low-fidelity and high-fidelity deliverables and iterating rapidly
• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time across multiple priorities in a contract setting

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing for web and native mobile
• Familiarity with modern prototyping and design tools
• Basic understanding of front-end implementation constraints to improve handoffs
