Role overview

We are assisting a Confidential Client in Accounting & Finance to hire an experienced associate-level FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) Consultant in Washington, D.C. This hands-on role supports budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and performance management for client engagements. You will work on data-driven projects, help design performance frameworks, and contribute to deliverables that influence strategic decisions.


What You’ll Do

  • Analyze financial and operational data to develop KPIs and performance metrics
  • Design and implement performance management frameworks that improve efficiency
  • Provide guidance on budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
  • Build and maintain financial models to support scenario analysis and strategic planning
  • Use financial management and reporting tools to streamline decision-making
  • Conduct complex data analysis and create clear visualizations to inform leadership and clients
  • Create budgets, monitor trends, and identify opportunities for cost optimization
  • Collaborate with client teams to understand needs and deliver tailored financial solutions
  • Adopt a continuous-learning mindset to expand technical skills and contribute to team success

Qualifications (Minimum requirements)

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience in finance, FP&A, or related analytical roles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Solid analytical thinking and ability to synthesize data into actionable insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present findings clearly to diverse audiences

Preferred / What Sets You Apart

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Analytics/Data Science, Business, Computer Science/Information Systems, or similar
  • Prior industry experience in Banking & Capital Markets, Industrials, Consumer Packaged Goods, or similar sectors
  • Experience with enterprise performance management or EPM tools (e.g., OneStream, Hyperion)
  • Familiarity with data querying or scripting (SQL, Python) and automation of reporting processes
  • Experience working in a client-facing consulting environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $61,000 - $100,000 per year (actual pay depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and location in accordance with applicable law)
  • Eligible employees may receive an annual discretionary bonus (where applicable)
  • Benefits typically include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, and personal/sick leave — specifics depend on the Confidential Client’s policies and the candidate’s location
