Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level FP&A Analyst based in Wayzata, MN. This role supports property-level and portfolio financial planning, forecasting, reporting, analytics, and business intelligence for a large multifamily real estate operating portfolio. You will work closely with Property FP&A, Asset Management, Accounting, and Property Management teams to produce timely, accurate data and decision support.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare accurate, well-organized property-level analysis, schedules, and recurring reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
• Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting across the operating portfolio.
• Populate and maintain planning templates, assumptions, workflows, and calendars.
• Compare forecast to actuals, research variances, and summarize findings for stakeholders.
• Assist in building dashboards and analytical tools using Power BI, Pigment, Excel, and similar systems.
• Maintain data integrity and resolve discrepancies with Accounting, IT, Asset Management, and Property Management.
• Track trends across revenue, occupancy, leasing, concessions, bad debt, payroll, expenses, and capital investment.
• Support long-range planning models for property performance, capital needs, and investment decisions.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve processes.
• Deliver clear written summaries of analyses and support ad hoc requests across Finance, REIT/Capital Markets, and Investor Relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (FP&A, asset management, CRE finance, investments, consulting); internships count.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience organizing and working with large data sets and building schedules/reports from raw data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Curiosity, attention to detail, initiative, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Interest in how operating performance connects to NOI, cash flow, asset value, and investment returns.

Preferred / Helpful Experience & Tools

• Exposure to multifamily real estate operations or internships in CRE finance.
• Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, or planning systems such as Pigment, Vena, Anaplan, or Adaptive.
• Experience with property management/real estate platforms like Yardi, RealPage, or MRI.
• Coursework or exposure to capital planning, investment analysis, or asset management.
• Progress toward professional credentials (CFA, CPA, ARGUS, CCIM) is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $58,000 - $76,100 (annual)
• Confidential Client determines compensation based on experience, skills, and role specifics.
