Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Foster Care Coordinator based in Raleigh, NC to support foster-parent supervision, case monitoring and coordination with local Departments of Social Services. This is a frontline casework role that supports foster parents across Durham, Wake, Orange and surrounding counties. The role combines case management, foster-parent training/support, and collaboration with community partners to promote safe, stable placements for children.


What You’ll Do

  • Supervise, evaluate and monitor foster care parents assigned to your caseload.
  • Conduct regular home visits, assessments and documentation to ensure safety and compliance with foster-care standards.
  • Coordinate with county Departments of Social Services and other partners on placements, service planning and case reviews.
  • Provide coaching, training referrals and resources to foster parents to support placement stability.
  • Maintain timely and accurate case records, reports and communications.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, court-related activities and required trainings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work or a related field from an accredited school AND at least two years of mental health or related experience; OR
  • Master’s degree in a related field AND one year of mental health or related experience.
  • Some knowledge of foster care services and Department of Social Services processes.
  • Experience in case management (QP) or foster-care work is highly desired; entry-level applicants with relevant internships or practicum experience will be considered.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and effective time management.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for in-person home visits.

Preferred / Helpful Experience

  • Prior work with foster families, child welfare, or related human services programs.
  • Experience documenting case notes in electronic case management systems.
  • Familiarity with safety assessments, service planning and community resource networks.
