Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Forensic Staff Accountant to join their Investigative Accounting Group in Manhattan, NY. This hybrid role provides hands-on exposure to forensic accounting, litigation support, and insurance loss evaluations. Ideal candidates have up to two years of public accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and an interest in investigative work.

Role & Responsibilities

• Work on forensic accounting and investigative assignments, primarily involving commercial property insurance claim evaluations for physical damage and business income losses.
• Review and analyze historical financial and industry information to support economic damage assessments.
• Prepare revenue and expense projections, financial analyses, and documentation for litigation support.
• Communicate findings clearly in written reports and client presentations.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across engagements — from small local businesses to multinational clients.
• Maintain organized working papers, follow firm quality standards, and support senior staff as needed.

Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) in Accounting or Finance.
• Have up to two years of public accounting experience (entry-level to early-career).
• Possess intermediate-level Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Be outgoing, self-motivated, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Be comfortable with occasional overnight travel (approximately 10%).

• Base salary range: $70,000 – $85,000 per year (range provided by the employer).
