What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Food Service Manager to support kitchen operations and employee development in their Restaurant Foods / culinary area. This role combines hands-on cooking, team leadership, and training responsibilities as part of a structured program that leads to placement as a Lead Cook.
- Assist the Sous Chef in running the kitchen and managing employees; oversee operations in the Sous Chef’s absence
- Follow standardized recipes and proper cooking techniques to maintain product quality and consistency
- Train and develop cooks and prep staff; provide feedback and on-the-job coaching
- Educate customers and team members about products and meal solutions that incorporate items from multiple departments
- Monitor food safety and quality assurance standards; maintain clean, compliant work areas
- Contribute to profitability by minimizing waste, controlling food costs, and supporting efficient operations
- Note: candidates may be considered for multiple store locations within the specified region based on openings
Qualifications (Required)
- 2+ years experience as a prep cook or line cook
- Working knowledge of food safety and quality assurance practices
- Must be 18 years or older
- Availability for morning, afternoon and evening shifts, including weekends
- Ability to work full time
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts
- Experience in multi-faceted foodservice environments (restaurant, hotel, country club, conference center, casino, theme park, etc.)
- Prior experience mentoring or supervising kitchen staff
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay Range: $21.75 - $22.50 per hour
- This posting notes a site-estimated annual figure (for reference): $57,832 per year (estimate)
- Time Type: Full time
- Structured training program: entry-level training designed to be completed within ~6 months with a mentor and trainer; successful completion leads to placement as a Lead Cook
