Fitness Specialist
The Fitness Specialist at Confidential Client provides professional fitness services including exercise instruction, health screenings, and fitness assessments while ensuring high-quality customer service. This part-time role involves supervising the fitness floor, responding to medical emergencies, promoting ancillary wellness services, and maintaining facility and equipment standards to support members' health goals.

What You’ll Do
The Fitness Specialist provides professional fitness services and exceptional member-focused customer service at a medically integrated fitness center managed by our confidential client. You will supervise the fitness floor, deliver basic exercise instruction, and support medically integrated programming and member engagement.
- Provide fitness floor supervision and basic exercise instruction for members, guests and medically integrated program participants
- Screen health history and coordinate medical clearance processes when required
- Schedule and perform fitness assessments, orientations and follow-up appointments per established protocols
- Deliver and explain fitness assessment results and provide exercise guidelines and program recommendations aligned with member goals
- Respond immediately to medical emergencies, bring AED and first-aid supplies, and complete incident reports
- Promote and sell ancillary services (personal training, wellness coaching, nutrition services, medically integrated programs)
- Maintain awareness of center events and activities; perform facility rounds every 30–60 minutes (including pool and locker areas)
- Perform opening and closing procedures on scheduled weekdays, weekends and holidays
- Maintain cleanliness of fitness areas and inspect equipment; report and remove equipment from service until repaired
- Assist with member scheduling and accommodate flexible hours as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, exercise science, kinesiology, or physical education required
- Prior part-time work experience or internship in the fitness industry preferred
- CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (certification provided by the confidential client)
- Nationally recognized NCCA-accredited certification preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; service-oriented approach with members
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a professional, controlled demeanor
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Must be flexible and available for variable center hours (including weekends)
Employment Type, Schedule & Compensation
- Employment type: Part-time (Contract) — approximately 15–20 hours/week, includes weekends
- Estimated annual compensation: $44,071 per year (estimated)
- Location: Erie, PA (on-site)
