What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a motivated and detail-driven Fiscal Analyst I/II to support public-sector financial operations in Hanford, CA. In this role you will help prepare and monitor budgets, analyze financial data, reconcile ledgers, assist with grant accounting, and prepare financial reports that support responsible use of public funds.
Key Responsibilities
- Review accounting and financial documents for accuracy; make correcting entries.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, trial balances, and subsidiary ledgers.
- Monitor grants for compliance and compile financial data for claims and audits.
- Analyze expenditures, revenues, and budget allocations; prepare appropriation transfers.
- Assist with annual budget compilation, cash flow and cost projections, and budget monitoring.
- Produce a wide variety of financial and narrative reports (monthly, year-end, payroll, investments).
- Support financial, operational, and compliance audits; document findings and recommendations.
- Provide technical guidance and training to less-experienced staff; may supervise technical/clerical staff.
- Review and recommend changes to fiscal policies and procedures; support outside auditors.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Fiscal Analyst I: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible accounting experience.
- Fiscal Analyst II: Two (2) years performing duties equivalent to Fiscal Analyst I with the hiring jurisdiction or equivalent public-sector experience.
- Licenses: Possession of a valid California driver’s license at the time of appointment.
- Special Requirements: Ability to qualify for security clearance through background investigation and fingerprinting (including a credit check). Ability to work occasional irregular hours and travel within and outside the County as needed.

Compensation & Benefits
- Fiscal Analyst I: $69,388.80 - $84,676.80 annually
- Fiscal Analyst II: $76,648.00 - $93,537.60 annually

Selection Process & Timeline
