What You’ll Do

This Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Financial Planner to join their Des Moines, IA team. In this role you will support client financial planning by gathering data, building plans, recommending solutions, and helping grow a client book over time.

  • Gather and assess client financial information to determine financial status, cash flow, goals, retirement plans, risk tolerance, and other wealth-management factors
  • Create customized financial plans tailored to each client’s life stage, goals, and changing needs
  • Recommend products, investments, insurance, and other strategies to help clients meet objectives
  • Proactively identify and recruit new clients; build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships
  • Engage clients regularly to review progress and adjust plans as needed
  • Educate clients on insurance, investments, retirement planning and other financial topics in clear, relatable terms
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in ongoing training and professional development
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM and use planning tools and spreadsheets to support client work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related analytical field required
  • Interest in or working knowledge of financial products, personal financial advising, investment options, and retirement planning
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel), Google Workspace, CRM systems and financial planning software is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex financial topics simply
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; client-service orientation
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client accounts
  • Sales or client-acquisition experience is a plus but not required
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63/66 credentials are beneficial if already held (not required at hire)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: $65,000+ (as listed by the source). Estimated market figure shown for reference.
