What You’ll Do
The Financial Operations Analyst will provide hands-on financial reporting, variance analysis, and business support for operations and supply chain. This entry-level role is ideal for early-career finance professionals who want exposure to cost accounting, inventory controls, and cross-functional operations finance within a global organization.
Responsibilities
- Support the monthly close for Operations cost centers, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze standard cost, inventory, freight, and manufacturing variance reports to identify trends and cost drivers.
- Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for Operations spend.
- Track and report capital expenditure (capex) and construction-in-progress (CIP) activity, including spend vs. budget and monthly CIP roll-forwards.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to monitor KPIs and cost-savings initiatives.
- Prepare monthly management reporting packages with variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior year.
- Support physical inventory and cycle counts, and reconcile results.
- Assist with internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit requests related to inventory and cost accounting.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and increase efficiency through automation and standardization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field required.
- 0–2 years relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, or supply chain finance; internships considered.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic financial modeling).
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (for example SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards) preferred.
- Familiarity with business intelligence/reporting tools (Power BI, Hyperion) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with rigorous attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication; able to present financial information to non-finance partners.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset and comfort working cross-functionally.
Location & Schedule
- Onsite in Newark, Delaware office — approximately 4x/week.
- This role is listed as Contract / Full-time.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary range: $53,800 to $84,300 (bonus eligible). Final compensation dependent on experience, skills, location, education, and market factors.
