What You’ll Do
As a Financial Engineer on the Retail Lending analytics team, you will design, build, and maintain data-driven solutions that support mortgage portfolio targeting, lead distribution, operational reporting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. You will work with large, complex datasets and translate business needs into accurate, scalable, and actionable analytical solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable datasets, SQL processes, ETL pipelines, analytical tools, and reporting solutions that support retail lending strategy and operations.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, diagnose issues, and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to business partners.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards, and recurring management reporting to provide visibility into funnel health, cycle times, recapture, and business outcomes.
- Develop and refine portfolio-targeting and lead-scoring processes to prioritize borrower opportunities based on eligibility, product fit, profitability, and operational constraints.
- Apply rigorous data validation and quality-control practices to ensure analytical outputs are accurate and decision-ready.
- Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Capital Markets, Servicing, and Technology to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Automate manual reporting and data-prep tasks to improve efficiency, accuracy, and speed of execution.
- Own assignments end-to-end: discovery, implementation, validation, documentation, and stakeholder delivery.
What You’ll Need
- 1+ years of related experience in analytics, data engineering, or financial modeling.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s or MBA preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with SQL Server (T-SQL), Power BI, Excel (including VBA), and C#.
- Experience with statistical analysis using R or Python.
- Familiarity with residential mortgage products, retail or correspondent lending, and related operational workflows (entry-level industry knowledge acceptable).
- Strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and personal accountability.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical methods and results to business leaders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range for Westlake Village, CA: $107,395 — $132,661 per year (salary determined by location and experience).
- Role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives.
