What You’ll Do

A confidential client is hiring a Financial Data Analyst to support planning, reporting, forecasting, and business analysis across finance and cross-functional teams. This role is hybrid/remote (U.S.-based) and will focus on delivering accurate management reporting, financial models, and actionable insights that drive decision-making.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management dashboards
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, and operating performance
  • Build, maintain, and improve financial models (budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis)
  • Perform variance analysis and explain differences between actuals, budgets, and forecasts
  • Track and report on key performance indicators and business metrics
  • Reconcile and validate financial data from multiple sources and systems
  • Identify trends, risks, and cost-saving or performance-improvement opportunities
  • Create clear presentations and recommendations for finance leadership and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with accounting, operations, sales, and product teams to support cross-functional initiatives
  • Support improvements to reporting processes, data quality, and internal controls while maintaining confidentiality

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Finance preferred)
  • 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, corporate finance, investment analysis, or similar
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial formulas)
  • Experience building financial models and preparing management-level reports
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present findings clearly
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote/hybrid environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP, financial planning, or business intelligence systems
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other data analysis/visualization tools
  • Experience in technology, manufacturing, e-commerce, SaaS, marketplace, or other data-driven businesses
  • CFA, CPA, or other relevant certification (or progress toward certification)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $70,000–$100,000 per year (range provided by the client)
