About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Financial Analyst to support FP&A activities for a fast-growing, multi-unit food and lifestyle brand. This hybrid role is based in Manhattan, NY (in-office Monday–Thursday). The position reports to the FP&A Manager and is Full-Time, Exempt.

Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per year


What You’ll Do

  • Support the annual budget and quarterly reforecast cycles by preparing templates, consolidating submissions, and documenting assumptions
  • Prepare recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packages (P&L summaries, KPI scorecards, flash reports)
  • Compile variance analyses vs. budget, forecast, and prior year at company, store, and department levels; research drivers and draft commentary
  • Maintain and update driver-based financial models (store-level P&Ls, unit economics); assist in building new models as skills develop
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and cross-functional teams to analyze sales trends, average check, transactions, labor productivity, COGS, and other KPIs
  • Support new store development analysis, capex tracking, and franchise performance reporting
  • Assist with cash flow and working capital reporting in partnership with Accounting
  • Help maintain reporting hierarchies, chart of accounts mappings, and data integrity in planning/reporting systems
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses and presentation materials for finance leadership; translate data into clear recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and document FP&A processes

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, or project work considered)
  • Coursework or practical exposure to financial statement analysis, budgeting, or financial modeling
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX+MATCH, SUMIFS) and eagerness to develop advanced modeling skills
  • Working understanding of financial statements and GAAP fundamentals (how decisions flow through P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Familiarity with ERP or BI/planning tools (Restaurant365, NetSuite, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Adaptive, Vena) preferred; SQL or Python a plus
  • Interest or experience in restaurant, retail, hospitality, CPG, or other multi-unit operations preferred
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective written/verbal communication for nonfinancial audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, receive and apply feedback, and maintain confidentiality
  • Intellectual curiosity and comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Physical Requirements & Logistics

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use; ability to use standard office equipment
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching in an office environment
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally (files, supplies)
  • Visual acuity to read printed and digital documents and spreadsheets
  • Occasional travel to corporate offices, franchise locations, or external meetings (up to ~10%)
