Program Overview
Confidential Client is hiring candidates for a Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) based in Falls Church, VA. This is a structured, three-year rotational program designed for recent graduates who want accelerated development in finance, accounting, and business leadership within the defense & aerospace sector. The program offers hands-on rotations, mentorship, technical and leadership training, and tuition assistance.
Estimated compensation (source posting): $132,140 per year (estimated). Employment type: Full-time / Contractor (program placement). Relocation and security-clearance requirements apply (see below).
What You’ll Do
This rotational program provides exposure to diverse finance functions across product groups and business areas. Typical responsibilities during rotations include:
- Support financial planning & analysis, budgeting, and forecasting activities
- Perform accounting tasks and maintain program financial records
- Assist with project finance, cost control, and program control reporting
- Support pricing and estimating analyses for proposals and contracts
- Help implement and use business systems and data visualizations (Power BI or similar)
- Participate in compliance reviews and internal audit support activities
- Lead or contribute to process-improvement projects and cross-functional teams
- Present findings and recommendations to managers and stakeholders
Rotation Examples
Participants typically rotate through roles such as:
- Project Finance
- Program Control
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Accounting
- Pricing & Estimating
- Operations Finance
- Business Systems & Solutions
- Compliance / Internal Audit
Rotations are generally year-long with increasing responsibility, and may require travel or relocation within the U.S.
Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution
- Demonstrated leadership potential through academics, extracurriculars, or work experience
- Internship, co-op, or project experience in finance/accounting or related fields
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft 365 tools
- Exposure to data visualization tools (Power BI or similar) is a plus
- Self-motivated, able to manage multiple priorities and work hard in a fast-paced environment
All candidates must be able to:
- Relocate up to three times over the course of the program
- Obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance (required)

Recruitment Timeline & Start
- Cohort typically begins in June. Some hires who have already completed degrees may be eligible for an early start before cohort activities begin.
- Typical selection timeline includes virtual first-round interviews (mid-August through September) and an onsite finalist event (week of October 12). Actual dates and steps may vary.
Compensation & Benefits
Estimated salary (source): $132,140 per year — estimated.
