Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Finance Analyst to support project accounting and financial management for heavy civil and infrastructure projects across Northern California. This role focuses on project-level accounting and finance functions—cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, human capital management, forecasting, and month-end reporting. You will work closely with operations and project management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.


District Overview

The role supports projects across Northern California (water/wastewater, transportation, roadways, earthmoving, and power). The position is based in Suisun, CA and may require travel to regional job sites.


What You’ll Do

  • Recognize the importance of being a team player and adapt to project needs
  • Build strong working relationships with Operations and Project Management
  • Support payroll and HR workflows: hiring, transfers, terminations, and payroll processing
  • Process and control procurement workflows: vendor invoices, purchase orders, and AP controls
  • Assist with intercompany/client billing and timely invoice documentation
  • Review costs, budget structure, quantity claiming, and exception reports for accuracy
  • Identify and adjust forecast and budget issues; help ensure correct recognition of cost and revenue
  • Contribute to month-end close and prepare financial reporting packages for project management
  • Provide responsive, first-rate customer service to internal partners
  • Maintain organized work practices, clear communication, and strong time management
  • Follow corporate compliance programs and implement EEO/labor law requirements at the project level

Qualifications

  • 0–1 years of financial or data analysis experience (entry-level)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (as listed in the source)
  • Internship experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs preferred), Word and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Effective oral and written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to access all parts of a construction site in varying climates
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base compensation: $70,460 - $81,640 per year (actual compensation dependent on experience, education, skillset, and location)
