About the Role

This entry-level Finance Analyst role supports project-based accounting and operational finance for construction and industrial projects. You will help maintain cost control, process payroll and vendor payments, support billing and cash management, and assist with month‑end close and project financial reporting for confidential client projects ranging from small to very large scale.

  • Support cost control, budget reviews, and variance analysis for assigned projects
  • Prepare and review cost reports, quantity claiming, and exception reports for management
  • Assist with payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and intercompany/client billing workflows
  • Help maintain purchasing and internal control procedures for project procurement and invoices
  • Contribute to month-end close activities and prepare financial reporting packages
  • Partner with operations teams to understand field workflows and resolve discrepancies
  • Use Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, basic functions) to analyze financial data and prepare reports
  • Follow corporate compliance, EEO and labor law requirements at the project level

Who You Are (Qualifications)

  • 0–2 years of financial or data analysis experience (entry-level)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (as stated by client)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook; familiarity with pivot tables and VLOOKUP preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and correct discrepancies
  • Effective written and verbal communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel and relocate as required by project needs (may be up to ~50%)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to access all parts of a construction site in varied climates
  • Previous internships or relevant project experience preferred

Location & Travel

This role is based in San Diego, CA. Confidential client assigns teams based on project needs nationwide; relocation and travel are core to the role. Candidates must be willing and able to relocate and travel frequently when projects require it.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base compensation (provided by client): $72,000 — $84,000 per year (actual pay may vary based on experience, education, skills, and location)
