Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Finance Analyst to support project accounting and operational finance for heavy civil and transportation construction projects. This role focuses on cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, forecasting, month-end close support, and preparing financial reporting packages for project management. The position will develop practical skills across labor, equipment, materials, and subcontract cost components while working closely with operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day project accounting: cost tracking, cost adjustments, and maintaining budget integrity.
- Assist payroll and HR workflows for hiring, transfers, terminations, and pay processes.
- Process and troubleshoot accounts payable and vendor/payment issues.
- Support intercompany and client billing, ensuring documentation is timely and accurate.
- Review cost reports, quantity claiming, and exception reports; correct and document entries to meet accounting standards.
- Help prepare month-end close schedules and financial reporting packages for project leadership.
- Identify forecast and budget variances and work with teams to adjust forecasts accordingly.
- Build strong working relationships with operations and provide high-quality customer service to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain organized work processes, meet deadlines, and follow corporate compliance and EEO/labor law requirements at the project level.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of financial or data analysis experience (internship experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs preferred), Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Ability to access all parts of a construction site in varied climates and environments.
- Ability to relocate and travel as business requires (travel/relocation may be required up to ~50%).
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base compensation range: $72,000 — $81,000 per year (actual pay varies based on education, experience, skillset, and location).

Location & Travel
- Job assignment location will be determined closer to your start date. Projects primarily operate across the Rocky Mountain, Midwest, and south-central U.S. — candidates must be willing to travel and relocate as business requires.
