Position overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Finance Analyst to join its industrial projects team. This operational finance role supports construction projects by handling cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, human capital processes, and project compliance. You will develop expertise in project accounting and financial reporting for projects that range in size and scope, and participate in month-end close and forecasting activities that help project leadership run projects like small businesses.

Confidential Client’s industrial group focuses on technically complex electrical and industrial construction projects across the U.S. Our teams move to where the work is — candidates must be willing to travel and relocate frequently based on project needs and individual development plans. MEC-style projects may require work in major metro areas and smaller towns; applicants must be able to work on active construction sites in diverse climates.
What you’ll do
- Support project-level accounting functions including cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and billing.
- Assist with month-end close processes and preparation of financial reporting packages for project management.
- Reconcile cost reports, review quantity claiming and budgets, and research/resolve discrepancies.
- Help prepare and review forecasts; identify and document adjustments to budgets and forecasts.
- Maintain purchasing and internal-control workflows; assist with vendor payments and troubleshooting.
- Partner with operations and HR to support hiring, transfers, terminations, and payroll accuracy.
- Communicate clearly with project teams and maintain a highly organized workflow.
- Follow corporate compliance programs and help implement EEO and labor rules at the project level.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years relevant financial or data analysis experience, internships welcome.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and other key functions preferred), Word and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail, effective oral and written communication, and solid organizational skills.
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to relocate and travel as required (up to ~50%).
- Must be able to freely access all parts of active construction sites and work in wide-ranging climates.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
- Valid driver’s license.
Compensation & benefits
- Base compensation range: $72,000 – $84,000 per year (actual pay may vary based on experience, education, skillset, and location).
