What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level Finance Analyst role supporting project accounting and finance functions for large infrastructure projects (typically $1M to $4B). You will help maintain cost control and financial records, support payroll and accounts payable/receivable workflows, assist with forecasting and month-end close, and prepare reporting packages for project management. The position is based in Fairfield, CA and involves travel to Northern California project sites (up to ~25%).


Responsibilities

  • Support project cost control and review cost adjustments for accuracy against budgets and accounting rules
  • Assist with payroll workflows and HR-related finance processes (hire/transfer/terminate/pay)
  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable; troubleshoot vendor/payment issues
  • Support intercompany and client billing; ensure timely, accurate billing documentation
  • Help prepare month-end close materials and financial reporting packages for project managers
  • Review quantity claiming, budget structure, and exception reports; recommend corrections
  • Contribute to forecasting and budget reviews to confirm proper recognition of cost and revenue
  • Foster strong working relationships with field Operations and other stakeholders
  • Maintain organized records, timely communications, and high customer-service standards
  • Follow corporate compliance, EEO and labor laws at the project level

Qualifications

  • 0–1 years of finance or data analysis experience; internships strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (as stated by the client)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs and other functions preferred), Word and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies
  • Effective written and verbal communication and solid organizational skills
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and freely access parts of construction sites in varied climates/environments
  • Valid Driver’s License required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base compensation: $70,460 - $81,640 (range provided by the client; actual pay may vary by experience, education, skillset, and location)

Location & Travel

  • Primary office: Fairfield, CA (Northern California District)
  • Role supports projects across Northern California and will require travel to job sites as needed (up to ~25%)

  • Ability to follow all safety, site access and written/oral instructions
