About the Role

Confidential client is hiring an entry-level Finance Analyst to support project accounting and operational finance functions within the Eastern District. In this role you will help manage financial activity for construction projects ranging roughly from $1M to $4B. Day-to-day work includes cost control, payroll support, accounts payable/receivable, human capital management, forecasting, month-end close tasks, and preparing financial reporting packages for project management.

This is a hands-on position that will build your technical accounting skills, deepen your understanding of project-based financial controls, and expose you to cross-functional teams in the field and office.


What You’ll Do

  • Support project accounting activities: cost tracking, cost adjustments, and budget reporting
  • Assist with month-end close and prepare financial reporting packages for project managers
  • Help process payroll and support HR/payroll system workflows for hires, transfers, and terminations
  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable; troubleshoot vendor/payment issues
  • Review purchase workflows and maintain purchasing internal controls
  • Monitor forecasting and update project cost and revenue recognition as needed
  • Analyze exception reports, quantity claiming, and budget variances; recommend corrections
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Operations and project teams
  • Maintain organized documentation and clear communication with internal stakeholders
  • Follow corporate compliance, EEO and labor law requirements at the project level

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of financial or data analysis experience (entry-level candidates encouraged)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 (as listed by the client)
  • Previous internship or related practical experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, common functions); Word and Outlook experience helpful
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in financial data
  • Effective oral and written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Must be able to access all parts of construction sites in a variety of climates and environments
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license required
  • Ability to relocate within the East Coast and travel up to 25% as business needs require

Location & Travel

  • Primary posting: Woodcliff Lake, NJ (assignment location will be determined closer to start date)
  • Candidate must be willing to relocate based on project assignments across the Great Lakes, DMV, and Northeast regions
  • Travel and relocation frequency depends on project needs; expect occasional moves or temporary assignments

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $75,000 — $87,906 per year (actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, skillset, and location)
