Overview
This role is for a Field Support Lead (Field Operations Management) supporting wind-energy project construction and grid connection activities. The Confidential Client seeks a hands-on leader to supervise Field Support Coordinators (FSCs) and Tool Coordinators (TCs), drive process compliance (safety, inventory, documentation), and deliver consistent, high-quality field support across multiple sites. The role is remote-eligible (telecommute) with significant travel to project sites.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coordinate, and develop a Field Support team (typically ~3–5 direct Confidential Client employees and ~3–5 third‑party contractors).
- Align field support efforts across multiple projects and sites to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery.
- Champion safety and environmental policies; lead or participate in daily safety meetings (on-site or virtual).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment through hazard identification and risk mitigation.
- Train, mentor, and develop FSCs and TCs; identify skill gaps and deliver targeted coaching.
- Train third‑party contractors on established FSC/TC processes, procedures, and expectations.
- Ensure accurate creation and tracking of Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and related documentation in SAP.
- Drive consistency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across field support activities; submit improvement recommendations via proper channels.
- Partner with Field Support Managers on staffing, scheduling, and business needs to support cost‑effective project execution.
- Provide timely project status updates and assist with closeout audits/reviews to confirm project completion and documentation accuracy.
- Support other sites/teams as needed and be available for short‑notice travel to provide training, operational support, or interim coverage.
- Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in wind site business support or similar field operations roles; demonstrated experience in project management and training others.
- Practical experience with SAP in functions such as dispatch/planning, stock keeping, forecasting, or related roles.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, logistics, scheduling, and inventory control.
- Advanced PC skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel) and SAP.
- Strong organizational, time‑management, root‑cause problem solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings; capable of effective remote work with limited supervision.
- Valid driver’s license required; passport preferred for international travel.
- Willingness to travel (approximately 60%).
Compensation & Employment Type
- Estimated salary: $80,982 per year (estimated).
- Employment type: Full‑time.
- Job location: Austin, TX (telecommute eligible; significant travel required).
