About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Field Service Truck Technician (Cathodic Protection / CP Technician) to join a growing technical team serving energy and infrastructure clients across the U.S. This hands-on field role spends ~75% of time traveling to project sites nationwide, performing installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cathodic protection systems. This is a field-forward, physically active job with significant overtime while on project travel and strong opportunities for training and career growth in CP engineering and AMPP standards.


What You’ll Do

  • Work safely in the field, following Confidential Client and client site safety procedures
  • Prepare for and execute planned cathodic protection projects and site visits
  • Operate CP testing equipment and other field instruments (data collectors, meters, etc.)
  • Install, commission, maintain, and repair components of cathodic protection systems
  • Perform troubleshooting and corrective work on CP systems and related assets
  • Gather accurate field data and complete records, reports, and operator qualification (OQ) documentation promptly
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and on-site personnel to meet project goals and technical requirements
  • Learn and follow applicable State and Federal rules, CFR 49 Parts 192 & 195, and AMPP test methods and standards

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (~75% travel nationwide) and perform physically demanding outdoor work
  • Comfortable operating company vehicles, ATVs/UTVs, and using standard hand and power tools
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and ethical service delivery
  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear verbal/written communication
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across offices and disciplines
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); eagerness to learn CP concepts and industry test methods

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting pay range: $22–$26 / hour (depends on experience) — significant overtime expected while traveling on projects
  • Estimated annual pay (role-dependent): approx. $50,612 (varies by hours, overtime, and location)
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision; annual performance bonus; 401(k)/profit sharing with 6% match; company-paid life, AD&D, short/long disability; PTO and paid holidays; tuition reimbursement
  • Per diem, mileage or vehicle allowance, and daily truck rate while traveling on projects
